"Considering the Revolution," installation pieces throughout the Vista curated by MichaelaPilar Brown. Artists include: Susan Lenz, Shannon Lindsey, Kenneth Eric Adams,Sara Schnecloth, Roni Nicole Henderson, The Nia Company, Jason Kendall and KaraGunter.   


5:30 p.m.:  The Vista Guild installs permanent sculpture by artist Mike Williams near 707 Gervais Street.

8 p.m.:  Participate in LiberaMe: A Lantern Parade and Group Performance with 701 CCA Artist in Residence Janke Klompmaker. The parade will gather at 8 p.m. at the entrance to the Vista Greenway tunnel at Lady and Lincoln Streets. The parade will leave as the sun sets at 8:15 p.m. and make its way through a short route in the Vista. Members of the public can participate by making lanterns in workshops at 701 CCA before the parade or by carrying lanterns that have been made already. Members of the public are also encouraged to just watch the parade as it makes its way through the Vista.

Parade Route: At 8 p.m., the parade will gather at the entrance to the Vista Greenway tunnel at Lady and Lincoln Streets. Friday, April 22

(visit participating Vista galleries during their scheduled business hours to see Artista Vista shows and visit Artista Vista installation art):

7 p.m.:  Studio Cellar hosts a live auction and offers complimentary champagne. Find work by local artists up for auction. Studio Cellar is donating 20 percent of event proceeds to the VistaGuild.

8 p.m.:  if ART hosts a special performance by artist Michaela Pilar Brown

Lipscomb Gallery, SC State MuseumRegular museum hours: "Art: A Collection of Collections," one-of-a-kind highlights from the museum's collections. Free access to Lipscomb Gallery to view exhibit, but admission charges apply to the rest of the museum.

 

Saturday, April 23

(visit participating Vista galleries during their scheduled business hours to see Artista Vista shows and visit Artista Vista installation art): 

10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.:  One Columbia guides lead walking tours of Artista Vista installation art. Tours will meet and depart from the corner of Lady and Lincoln Streets.

Lipscomb Gallery, SC State MuseumRegular museum hours: "Art: A Collection of Collections," one-of-a-kind highlights from the museum's collections. Free access to Lipscomb Gallery to view exhibit, but admission charges apply to the rest of the museum.
